For the first time, the Super Bowl will be held in the gambling capital of the US, Las Vegas, NV.
Despite expanding domestic and online sportsbooks across the United States, the National Football League (NFL) still has a policy that prevents players and coaches from betting on the action. NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell sent a memo over the weekend reminding staff and players that betting on the Super Bowl is off-limits.
The NFL policy about betting also forbids players from entering a domestic sportsbook in Vegas or making online sportsbook bets. Players from the Chiefs and 49ers can also wager on casino games once the Super Bowl is over.
Vegas Casinos & Sportsbooks Prepare To Take Super Bowl Bets
Most sports betting locations in Las Vegas are nestled into a casino floor or a designated area. Sometimes, patrons must walk through the casino to access the sports betting lounge.
The Athletic predicts that Super Bowl 58 will add $600-700 million in revenue for the city. There is no doubt that the Super Bowl stimulates the local economy, but with Vegas and all the surrounding gambling options this year, it could go through the roof.
Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said thousands of people flock to Vegas to watch the Super Bowl yearly due to the gambling opportunities and entertainment options. Hill said their goal is for Super Bowl 58 to go so well that the NFL brings it back every few years.
How Old Do You Have To Be To Gamble On The Super Bowl?
The gambling age in Las Vegas is 21 and over; however, residents from other states can bet online at 18+ online sportsbooks if local ordinances allow gambling over the age of 18. Online sports betting sites ask account holders to follow local age requirements but do not enforce such regulations. However, new accounts must provide proof of identification and, therefore, are required to be over the age of 18.
Casino Options In Vegas
Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the United States, and with 170+ casinos and 90+ casino hotels, the options are endless. Nevada has about 400+ casinos and 178 casino hotels throughout the state.
Anyone who has ever been to Las Vegas knows it is a gambling town with casinos offering free entertainment seven days a week. Some casino establishments also provide free drinks and other perks if you are on the casino gaming floor.
Online Las Vegas Casinos
Online gambling in Nevada is legal if a trusted gaming operator licenses the site you play. Players can find casino games, sportsbook odds, and poker options on the internet throughout Nevada.
Online casinos offer the same games you would expect to find in brick-and-mortar casinos, including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker, craps, and more. You can also find live dealer games accessible via a video/audio feed.
