Depending on the November ballot, Bally’s has submitted plans for its Lake Ozark, Missouri, casino location.
Missouri currently has 13 casinos that occupy the 13 casino licenses first granted by the state in the 1990s. Amendment 5, if passed, will allow for a fourteenth domestic casino license to operate on the Osage River, a license Bally’s has its eyes set upon. If passed, this would expand Missouri gambling options and open the door for more casinos down the road.
The new artist renderings show that the new Bally’s Casino would feature a hotel tower, casino game room, and space for other on-site amenities, including restaurants, bars, and retail stores.
Tribal Casinos In Missouri
There are no tribal casinos in the Show Me state, but that could soon change.
The Osage Nation has recently proposed constructing a separate gaming complex at Horshoebend Parkway. The tribal casino project doesn’t have to follow the state laws on casino licenses since they are a federally recognized tribe. Instead, they can receive a federal permit that the National Indian Gaming Commission often regulates.
However, the Department of the Interior, a government agency responsible for protecting America’s natural resources and heritage, must give the go-ahead before construction can begin.
