The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, has added a new tribute to Max Osceola Jr., a prominent leader on the Seminole Tribe’s Tribal Council.
While for many people outside of Florida, the name Osceola doesn’t ring a bell, he was a key figure in bringing the “Hard Rock” name to prominence worldwide. The new tribute to Osceola Jr. proudly displays his leather jacket and cowboy boots.
To make the new display even more unique, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino also donated to the Children’s Harbor. This charity benefits young mothers and foster children in South Florida.
Tiffany Dhooge, the president and CEO of Children’s Harbor, stated that the kids who live on their campus have endured unspeakable trauma, including physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Dhooge also indicated that it is the organization’s goal to show these kids what it means to be loved and to help them move on from former abuse.
Max Osceola Jr. Passed away in 2020 due to complications from COVID-19; he was 70 years old at the time of his death.
Hard Rock Goes Online
After a few legal setbacks, the Hard Rock Casino in Florida has launched its online sports betting app. Two pari-mutual companies delayed the launch with lawsuits intended to stop the process; however, the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the casino, allowing online sportsbooks to go live in December 2023.
