One of the biggest horse races of the year takes place tomorrow, and the time to bet is now!
Of course, after the disrupted schedule of the 2020 Triple Crown and the fact that the races were not heavily advertised or attended due to the 2020 coronavirus, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about the 37th Breeders’ Cup and the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic.
That said, the Classic is merely the headlining event on the ticket. There are actually 12 total races during the 2020 Breeders’ Cup, which are all being contested at the Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Classic will be held as the final race on the schedule (Saturday, Nov. 7, 5:13 PM, NBC).
However, all races feature purses of at least $1 million, with the weekend seeing $29 million in prize money doled out in total.
Naturally, you won’t win anywhere near that much betting on the Breeders’ Cup, but you can still make a mint (albeit not a mint julep, as that’s a different race) wagering on the various betting odds at the best legal online horse betting sites.

As you can see, the horses are arranged on the boards in order of their gate positions, but the current odds show that Belmont Stakes winner Tiz The Law is trending at second.
Meanwhile, 2020 Kentucky Derby winner Authentic is sitting in fourth.
Swiss Skydiver, the winner of the 145th Preakness Stakes, is not in the running for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, with the filly’s owner entering her into the Breeders’ Cup Distaff instead (which is also being held on Saturday at Keeneland).
When it comes to the betting lines themselves, unlike pari-mutuel wagers at the tracks and OTBs around the US, the above odds are house-banked and locked in. That means that you’ll know exactly how much you stand to win on each pick the moment you place your bet.
This is a major benefit of betting on horse races online with overseas operators as opposed to placing standard pool-based wagers with domestic horse betting providers.
Otherwise, you have access to all the same bets as you would at the track, from Win, Place, and Show picks to exactas, trifectas, superfectas, boxed bets, Pick 5 bets, Pick 6 bets, and more.
While these exotics pay out at much higher clips than typical straights (WPS bets), they’re much harder to hit, so keep that in mind when you’re managing your bankroll before betting on the 2020 Breeders’ Cup horse race.
In terms of the reliability of picking favorites during the 2020 horse racing season, things have been difficult for the headliners.
Tiz The Law was favored per the morning line odds to win the Belmont and did so, but as the favorite for the Kentucky Derby, the horse came up short, finishing second to +800 underdog Authentic.
Then, for the Preakness, Authentic was favored at +180 at the time of the race but lost out to Swiss Skydiver (+600), who became just the sixth filly to win the 145-year-old annual event.
Meanwhile, Improbable, who is the Breeders’ Cup favorite, didn’t run in any of the 2020 Triple Crown races, making his status as the top dog horse…improbable. Of course, given that he’s trained by the legendary Bob Baffert, his odds to win should be very good – and they are.
Nevertheless, regardless of which horse you think will take the title, you should check out the odds at all the top online racebooks (aka offshore OTBs), as their lines differ slightly on all the horses in the field.
For example, Improbable pays out at +300 at BetOnline, while he’s pulling odds of +275 at Bovada and +250 at MyBookie.
In this case, you’ll want to take the line on Improbable at BetOnline.
For bigger underdogs, the deltas are even larger between books, so you can really earn massively better payouts depending on the service provider you choose.
Shopping lines is one of the best things you can do as a horseplayer or a sports bettor, which is why recommend holding accounts at all of the major overseas betting sites.
Just make sure you sign up and get your bankrolls funded before the big race, because it – like the horses – will be here in a hurry!
